A mammoth crowd of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters from Bauchi Local Government Area on Sunday, 24 August, 2025 converged at the Metropolitan Event Centre, where they unanimously endorsed Senator Shehu Buba Umar for the governorship seat in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the endorsement rally, Forum Chairman Hon. Aminu Mohammed Danmaliki highlighted the senator’s achievements within two years in office, notably the sponsorship of 500 students at Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences, Bauchi, where he serves as proprietor.
Danmaliki, a former Commissioner of Information and traditional titleholder of Danmalikin Bauchi, reminded party faithful that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would soon display voters’ registers. He urged eligible voters to verify their names and prepare ahead of the polls, stressing the need for unity to defeat both the ruling PDP and emerging opposition groups.

He assured supporters that the endorsement committee he chairs—the Pioneer Leaders’ Committee of APC Supporters for SBU—would ensure inclusiveness in governance if Senator Shehu Buba emerges victorious.
Also speaking, Bauchi Local Government APC Chairman, Alhaji Sunusi Biyali, recalled that Senator Shehu Buba last year distributed 122 truckloads of rice across the state, which helped stabilize prices in the market. He added that the senator had also provided 14 trucks of fertilizer to farmers in Bauchi South, with more on the way.
Biyali criticized the state government for allegedly hoarding fertilizer supplied by the federal government instead of distributing it to farmers, accusing it of self-serving politics.
The formal motion to endorse Senator Shehu Buba Umar was moved by Hon. Aminu Mohammed and seconded by APC leaders from Bauchi, Zungur, Galambi, and Miri districts, including Alhaji Hussaini Baba and Barrister Jibrin Saeed Jibrin.
Others present at the endorsement included Hon. Abdul Hamid Rufa’i, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammed, Alhaji Rabi’u Abubakar Bishi, Hajiya Bilkisu Ori, Hon. Muhammed Ladan, and Alhaji Shamsuddeen Bala Kaka Lukshi.
