The Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Hon. Seyi Jakande, on Thursday, 4 September, 2025 fulfilled his commitment to supporting indigent students within the community by distributing General Certificate Examination (GCE) forms to those who excelled in the GCE qualifying mock exam organized last week.
This initiative is a key component of his HEWA Agenda, which prioritizes education as a fundamental pillar for community development.

During the Free GCE form distribution event, Chairman Jakande emphasized the importance of investing in the future of students who have shown commitment to their studies.
He stated, “We are overseeing the presentation of forms to indigent students who have been identified as serious and committed to their education,” underscoring the programme’s role in promoting academic success among underserved populations.

This initiative is part of a legacy of ‘people-centric projects’ he began during his previous tenure as vice-chairman, nearly six to seven years ago. “It fulfills a social contract to sustain and continue all initiated programmes, especially in education,” he remarked, highlighting the administration’s long-term commitment to enhancing educational access.
The recent graduation of around 600 students from ICT summer tech classes further illustrates the administration’s dedication to providing valuable educational experiences and skill development opportunities for students.
In addition to the GCE form distribution, the Chairman announced the upcoming launch of a ‘Back to School’ programme aimed at providing free educational materials to children in 27 public primary schools of the LCDA.
Set to commence a week before school resumes this September, this initiative seeks to ease the financial burden on parents by offering a comprehensive package that includes school bags, essential books, and university materials.
