The Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Hon. Seyi Jakande, led the council’s elected and management team on an extensive inspection of local Primary Health Centers (PHCs) within his LCDA on Wednesday, 24 September, 2025, aimed at reinforcing healthcare standards in the community.
The comprehensive tour included all seven primary health centers within the council area, focusing on the essential provision of initial health interventions before any advanced medical care.

The visit began at the Coker Health Center on Coker Road in Ilupeju, followed by the Ajisegiri Health Center, also in Ilupeju. The team then visited the Majolate/Kayode Health Center on Kayode Road, the Kajola Health Center on Ayonuga Street, the Anikulapo Health Center on Ransome Kuti Street, the Awolowo Health Center at Olosha bus stop in Mushin, and concluded at the Ayantunga Health Center at the A.P Bus Stop in Atewolara, Mushin.
Upon arrival at each facility, Chairman Jakande conducted thorough examinations, methodically navigating through various wards and meticulously assessing the organization of the medication storage areas.
The primary objective of this tour extended beyond evaluating the physical conditions of the facilities; it also aimed to scrutinize the effective management of staff and the resources available for providing optimal patient care.
Under the insightful guidance of Dr. Bidemi Fafunso, the Council’s Medical Officer for Health (MOH), Hon. Jakande and his team received detailed briefings on the daily operations of each health center. They observed firsthand the management of patient flow, paying particular attention to the systems in place in the waiting areas, which are crucial for enhancing patient experience.

Engaging in constructive discussions, the team focused on identifying areas needing improvement, emphasizing the necessity of ensuring that every patient receives timely and high-quality care within these essential health facilities.
In addition to the health centers, Chairman Jakande inspected the ongoing construction of the Odi-Olowo mini-stadium at Nusarau Deen Public Primary School on Ayantunga Street, Olorunshogo. He also made a stopover at the Kosybeth Public Primary School and took the opportunity to assess several roads within the LCDA.
The roads inspected spanned across three wards: Adewusi and Kadri Streets in Ward A1; Akinbiyi, Elegba, Oyegunle, Amodu, Alhaji Lasisi, Anifowoshe, and Ashaoku Streets in Ward A2; and Damengoro, Post Office, and Williams Ladega Streets in Ward B1. These inspections were part of assessing the drainage systems to identify those in urgent need of reconstruction as well as the roads that require immediate rehabilitation.
Accompanying Hon. Jakande on the tour were his Vice Chairman, Hon. Gbeminiyi Awodogan; the Councillors; and the Council’s Heads of Department led by Council Manager, Mrs. Otenaike.
