Lagos State recorded the fifth death of a female local government official within two months, with the death of the Council Manager of Coker Aguda Local Council Development Area, Mrs Adebimpe Akinola, late Monday, 29 September 2025, reports thegazellenews.com

Thegazellenews.com also reports that the late Mrs Akinola was the Chairman of the Forum of Council Managers in Lagos State.
Council Managers are the administrative heads of the 20 local governments and 37 LCDAs in the state, and they are also the accounting officers for the councils. They are also called Heads of Administration (HoA).
News of her death was made public by the Forum of Council Managers in a post made on their platform.
The Forum stated in its post that, “With total submission to the will of Allah, we announce the passing away of our dear Chairman, Mrs Adebimpe Akintola, this afternoon. Monday, 29th September, 2025.
“She was the council manager, Coker/ Aguda LCDA, until her death.”
The Forum also disclosed that the deceased CM would be buried according to Islamic rites on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.
It was also confirmed that the Janazah Prayer will be held at Al Kitab Mosque, Abosede Onamade Street, near Otunba’s House, Eleshin, after Zuhr Prayer around 1:00 PM, while the burial will be at the Equitable CDA Muslim Cemetery, Igbe Lara, by 2:00 pm.

On 13 August 2025, Oluwakemi Rufai, elected Councillor for Ward C in Ibeju Lekki Local Government, died barely two weeks after her inauguration.
Five days later, on 18 August 2025, another female elected councillor, Zainab Shotayo, elected councillor for Ward C in Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, died.
On Saturday, 20 September 2025, Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose, Vice Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, died, while the elected councillor for Ward F in Somolu Local Government, Basirat Oluwakemi Mayabikan, died the following day, Sunday, 21 September 2025.
