The Lagos State Arewa Community (LASACOM) on Wednesday, 1 October, 2025, organised a special National Prayer for Nigeria to mark its 65th Independence Day celebration.
The Arewa Community, led by former Lagos State Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure, Architect Kabir Ahmed, drew over 120 Imams, Ulamas and other Islamic clerics to its Arewa House secretariat on Capitol Road, Agege where the complete Quran was recited twice to pray not only for the nation but also for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for God to continue to strengthen him.


The Ulamas were led in prayers by Sheikh Aliyu Kharazumi, while the Seriki Hausawa of Idi Araba, Alhaji Hassan Auyo and other Serikis, were also in attendance.
Sheikh Kharazumi prayed for the success, peace, and security of Nigeria as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor of Lagos State and other States and Local Governments across the country.

Architect Kabir Ahmed stated that Nigerians have started feeling the positive impact of the economic policies of President Tinubu, noting that the present administration has put in place policies that will continue to impact positively on the populace.

“We need to pray for this nation. Nigerians should continue to support the President. This is a President that has their interest at heart.
“The Naira is stable now, petroleum products have stayed at their appropriate prices and we don’t have scarcity and long queues at filling stations anymore. Students are enjoying loans to enable pay their school fees and their upkeep and school supplies.
“This President will do more but we must also continue to support the administration with our prayers. That’s why we organised this national prayer,” Arc. Kabir said.
