In a show of commitment to residents’ welfare, the Alimosho Local Government, in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has distributed food items, clothing, and other essential materials to selected residents of the council.
The intervention aims to provide relief to affected households and aligns with NEMA’s core mandate of mitigating the impact of emergencies and improving citizens’ welfare during disasters.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Olatunde Muhammad, NEMA’s Head of Operations, expressed the agency’s delight in extending support to Alimosho residents.
“It is a thing of joy for us to be here today in Alimosho to distribute relief materials. NEMA has always been responsive to emergencies across the country. However, I want to urge our people to take insurance seriously. Insuring properties and businesses is very important because when disaster strikes, insurance helps to mitigate the loss. We can’t do everything and satisfy everyone, so please, take insurance seriously,” he advised.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, appreciated NEMA for its swift response to the council’s call for support.

“Before we came into the office, we promised our people that we would partner with the state and federal governments, international organizations, and private entities to develop Alimosho and enhance the quality of life of our people,” the Council Chairman said.
