Gunmen on the night of Monday, 8 December, 2025 abducted five indigenes of Magongo, in Ogori/Magongo Local Government of Kogi State, reports thegazellenews.com
The National President of the Magongo Development Association (MDA), Prince Jordan Akpata, who confirmed the development to newsmen on Tuesday, 9 December, 2025, said the victims were whisked away to unknown destination.

According to Akpata, the victims were returning from a wedding ceremony in Jos, Plateau State, when they were kidnapped at 8 p.m on Monday, just a few kilometres from Magongo.
The National President of MDA appealed to the Kogi State Government and security agencies to urgently intervene and ensure the safe rescue of the abducted citizens and douse the tension created by the sad development.
As at the time of filing this report, Kogi State Command has yet to comment on the incident.
The state has been under siege of kidnappers of late.
On November 30, 2025 gunmen invaded the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria during a service in Ejiba, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and abducted church members.
The victims have remained in captivity since the attack.
