The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has taken note of recent comments made by ARISE Business Analyst, Chika Mbonu, during a live broadcast on ARISE Global Business News, where he shared his personal experience aboard the Lagos–Ibadan Train Service.

Speaking in the context of Nigeria’s continuing inflation deceleration, Mr. Mbonu referenced the Lagos–Ibadan rail operations as seamless and efficient, highlighting the reliability of the service from a commuter’s perspective. His remarks were made organically while analysing broader economic indicators and were not part of any sponsored engagement.

According to the analyst, dependable transport infrastructure such as rail services plays a subtle yet significant role in economic stability by reducing logistical costs, improving time efficiency, and enhancing public confidence in government-led initiatives.

The Lagos–Ibadan corridor remains one of Nigeria’s flagship standard gauge rail services, serving thousands of commuters weekly and contributing to improved mobility between the commercial hub of Lagos and the Southwest hinterland.

The NRC notes that such independent, third-party observations reflect growing public recognition of rail infrastructure as a tangible dividend of democracy, delivering practical value to citizens and supporting national economic objectives.

As efforts continue to modernize and expand rail services nationwide, the Corporation remains committed to safe, efficient, and customer-focused rail operations that support Nigeria’s long-term growth.
