English Premier League (EPL) giants, Chelsea has officially appointed 41-year-old Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s team, signing the Englishman to a contract that will run through 2032.
In a statement on Chelsea’s official website on Tuesday, 6 January, 2026, the club said: “Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s team. The club extends a warm welcome to Rosenior and looks forward to his leadership on and off the pitch. Welcome to Chelsea, Liam!”

Rosenior joins Stamford Bridge after a successful stint with RC Strasbourg in France, where he guided the club to European qualification for the first time in 19 years during his debut season. He previously held coaching roles in England with Hull City and Derby County.
Commenting on his appointment, Rosenior said he was “extremely humbled and honoured” to take charge of a club with a “unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies.”

He added that his mission is to protect Chelsea’s identity and build a team that reflects the club’s values in every game.
“My job is to protect that identity and create a team that reflects these values in every game we play as we continue winning trophies. To be entrusted with this role means the world to me and I want to thank all involved for the opportunity and faith in undertaking this job. I will give everything to bring the success this club deserves.
“I believe deeply in teamwork, unity, togetherness and working for one another, and those values will be the foundation of our success,” Rosenior said.

The new manager promised to give everything to ensure the team competes and wins at the highest level, while also focusing on player development and upholding the club’s high standards.
Chelsea described Rosenior as a coach capable of getting the best out of the squad quickly, with the responsibility and backing to maintain the club’s competitiveness in all competitions this season and beyond.
