The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) on Wednesday, 14 January, 2026, appointed Wola Joseph-Condotti as its interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following a leadership transition linked to changes in the company’s board and ownership structure.

The appointment was announced in a statement by Babatunde Lasaki, EKEDC’s spokesperson, who said Joseph-Condotti would replace Rekhiat Momoh, who stepped down from her position as CEO.
According to the statement, the appointment takes immediate effect. In explaining the decision,EKEDC said the move reflects “the board’s confidence in her leadership capability, deep institutional knowledge, and clear focus on operational continuity, growth, and stakeholder satisfaction.”
Meanwhile, the company noted that the leadership change follows the takeover of its board by Transgrid Enerco. As a result, the previous board led by the former majority shareholder, West Power and Gas Limited (WPG), resigned.
“The previous board by the previous majority shareholder, West Power and Gas Limited, led by Chairman Dere Otubu, resigned today and gave way to the new board.
“Subsequently, a new board was constituted, with Engr. (Dr.) Olubunmi Peters appointed as Chairman. Other members include: Prof. George Nwangwu, Faruk Aliyu, Kolapo Joseph, and Rasheed Olaoluwa, while Ayo Gbeleyi remains on the board as the representative of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE),” the statement said.
EKEDC acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing CEO, noting that Momoh’s tenure was marked by significant progress in operational development and improvements in service delivery across the company’s franchise areas.
Prior to her interim appointment, Joseph-Condotti served as Group Managing Director and CEO of West Power & Gas Limited, EKEDC’s former parent company.
Earlier in her career, she was the pioneer Chief, Legal and Company Secretary at EKEDC.
Over time, she went on to hold several strategic roles within the company, including Head of Regulatory Compliance and Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer, positions that strengthened her understanding of EKEDC’s regulatory and operational environment.
Joseph-Condotti holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ibadan, a Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard Law School, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD Business School.
EKEDC said her interim leadership is expected to ensure stability and continuity as the new board sets its strategic direction under Transgrid Enerco’s ownership.
