The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has appointed Engr. (Dr.) Atinuke Wuraola Owolabi, FNSE, FNIEEE, as a member of its Regional Development Committee, in furtherance of its commitment to engineering-led national development.
Engr. Owolabi is a Board Member of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), where she serves as Chairman, Humanitarian, Resettlement and Social Welfare Committee of the Board.

A seasoned politician and development advocate, she is the Director, Professional Women Directorate, Grassroot Movement for Tinubu (GMT); President, APC Professional Women Network; and Convener, Tinubu Cares — a humanitarian and social intervention platform focused on community support, women empowerment, youth development, healthcare outreach, and welfare assistance for vulnerable groups.
She has been actively involved in political and grassroots mobilization activities aimed at promoting inclusive governance, social development, and citizen participation.

Her appointment reflects her extensive experience in regional development planning, humanitarian engineering, infrastructure coordination, and community-based interventions, particularly in areas of flooding response, resettlement, rural electrification, water access, healthcare delivery, and livelihood restoration.
Engr. Owolabi is also the Vice President (ICT) of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) and has remained a strong advocate for engineering capacity building, digital inclusion, and youth empowerment.
The NSE Regional Development Committee supports governments and development institutions through technical advisory, infrastructure planning, quality assurance, and the promotion of sustainable engineering solutions.
Her appointment is expected to further strengthen NSE’s contribution to regional development and national growth.
