The maiden edition of the Inter-House Sports Competition by the At-Tanzeel Schools has produced the Green House as the overall winner of the exercise.
Students from Green House won 23 Gold,13 Silver and 16 Bronze totalling 52 medals at the glamorous event held at the YABA College of Technology Sports Complex, Lagos.
Yellow House was second with 45 medals comprising 23 Gold, 8 silver and 14 Bronze while Purple and Orange placed third and fourth respectively.
The third position went home with 11 Gold, 25 Silver and 16 Bronze while the Orange House came distance fourth with 9 Gold, 19 Silver and 18 Bronze totalling 46 medals.
In his address, the Chairman Board of Directors, At-Tanzeel Schools, Saheed Bashir said that the historic occassion represents a significant milestone in their journey adding that they are deliberate in nurturing learners who are confident, resilient, responsible and globally aligned with international best practices.
According to him, while the School is firmly rooted in strong Islamic ethos, sports and physical education are vital to realising the vision.
Saheed Bashir extended his profound gratitude to the parents and corporate bodies for their generosity in sponsoring the event which he noted added color and excellence to the landmark event.
On his part, Hakeem Bolaji Isioye who is the Head of School at At-Tanzeel Schools described the event as another means of discovering new talents in sports noting Islam encourages physical fitness as a pathway to healthy mental consciousness.
The Sports Coordinator, Ademola Quam Elebute observed that the event was more than a display of athletic ability but a celebration of discipline, teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.
Parents, guardians and friends were on hand to cheer their respective Houses to victory.
Some of the Sporting events in which students participated includes; Field & Track (100m race, 200m race, 400m race, 4x400m relay, Long Jump).
The Indoor Games includes ( Lawn Tennis, Free Throw, Discuss and High Jump).
The Green House was named after Alhaji Mukadam Abdul-Rauf Lawal; Yellow House bore the First Adequate House; Purple was AKModel Group House while Orange was Infonomics House.
