Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdukadir Mohammed has declared Tuesday, February 3, 2026, a work-free day in the State to enable public and private sector workers participate fully in the golden jubilee celebrations.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, which was made available to Journalists yesterday night, the Governor described the 50th anniversary as a moment for reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to peace, development, and good governance.
The statement explained that as part of the celebrations, residents are encouraged to plant at least one tree each to promote environmental sustainability, combat desertification, and reduce the effects of global warming.
Governor Bala Mohammed urged citizens to celebrate responsibly, maintain peace and order, pray for continued progress, and demonstrate patriotism, environmental consciousness, and collective responsibility.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and citizens’ welfare, congratulated residents on the milestone, and noted that essential service providers will remain on duty to ensure public safety and security. END
