Today, on this World Cancer Day, I reaffirm our administration’s commitment to raising cancer awareness and taking decisive action towards prevention, early detection, and support for persons affected by the disease across communities in Imota LCDA.
World Cancer Day serves as a strong reminder that cancer is not just a medical issue, but a collective societal challenge that requires shared responsibility. By sustained awareness campaigns, encouraging regular screening, and reducing stigma associated with the disease, we can save lives and support those currently battling the disease.

Cancer is a major public health challenge that cuts across age, gender, and socio-economic status, and there is a need for continuous education and proactive healthcare interventions at the grassroots level. Many cancer-related deaths can be prevented through lifestyle changes, early screening, and timely medical attention.
Today, we commend all our healthcare workers in Imota LCDA for their tireless efforts in cancer prevention, treatment, and patient support. Your dedication continues to give hope to countless families, and I urge residents to take advantage of the available health services and to prioritize regular medical check-ups for early detection and effective management.

In Imota LCDA, the BSA-BOJ administration’s resolve is to sustain collaboration with relevant health authorities, advocacy groups, and partner organizations to strengthen primary healthcare delivery, intensify public sensitization programmes, and promote healthier lifestyles within Imota LCDA.
Let us stand together in solidarity with cancer patients and survivors, and through awareness, compassion, and collective action, a cancer-free future is achievable.
Hon Benson, Sunday Ayodele
Executive Chairman
