According to him, “we are witnessing the official flag-off ceremony of the Ramadan feeding programme, where thousands of bags of rice are being distributed to various individuals in Bauchi community.”
He stated that, “So, this is just representing one aspect of the distribution. There are other representatives or other aspects of this distribution that are happening in other communities, other locations.”
He further added that, “And we are also going to visit every local government where also we will distribute the items. All in all, we are going to distribute over 10,000 bags of rice to the Bauchi State community.”
He emphasized that, “And we are placing more emphasis on the underserved communities, people with special needs, and people that need this assistance most. This is one of the activities that Wunti Al-Khair Foundation is known for, charitable work.”
“So, this is just an official flag-off ceremony where we are going to continue this exercise, from tomorrow in other local governments. Hopefully, we are going to Toro LGA next,” he added.
Apart from food items, he disclosed that there are other things that the Foundation is giving out at this period of Ramadan fasting saying, “Well, we are distributing also cooked meals during Iftar, that is the breaking of fast.”
He added, “So, also, everyday in Bauchi metropolis, we are distributing over a thousand because in this Eid ground only, we are doing something that is called Dawra, where 500 pupils or students are doing training for memorizing the Quran.”
He stressed that, “It’s going to continue throughout the Ramadan and it started on the first day of Ramadan. So everyday we distribute, in this Eid ground only, we distribute over 700 cooked meals with water and date fruits and soft drinks.”
The Legal Officer further stated that,”In this first phase, Bauchi, being the city center and being the largest community that encompasses more people than other local governments, we are distributing over 2,000 bags because, as I told you, this is only one aspect of it.”
According to him, “Other people are doing the same thing because we cannot handle it alone. So we delegated some people who are going into all these nooks and crannies and finding the most suitable, the most vulnerable people in our society and then extending this hand of aid to them.”
Malama Hadiza, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the Foundation for the gesture saying that it will go a long way in ameliorating the suffering people, vulnerable people are going through most especially in the Ramadan period.
