In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and commitment to the welfare of residents, the Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Snr. Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya, has formally adopted a newborn baby boy who was born with natural curcumcission, reports thegazellenew.com

Thegazellenews.com reports further that the baby has been named Oluwadamilare AraOluwa.

The infant, described by witnesses as a “miracle baby,” was born with a complete natural circumcision.
The child was delivered on Sunday, 1 March, 2026, on Dare Street, Ikotun, by a homeless young woman, Oyinkansola Lekan, who was assisted during labor by two community members: Omobolanle Idowu and Opeyemi Odusanya.

According to the rescuers, Oyinkansola—herself daughter of a mentally ill mother and an absent father—became pregnant by an unidentified person. The product of that pregnancy is the uniquely born baby boy now under the care of the council.
Immediately upon learning of the situation, the Council’s helmsman, Snr. Comr. Akinsanya directed that Oyinkansola be moved to the Ikotun Primary Health Centre (PHC) within the council secretariat where she is currently receiving postnatal care and support.

In adopting the child, Chairman Akinsanya reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the security, health, and well-being of every resident, especially the most vulnerable.
“This child is a gift to our community. It is our duty to ensure he, and his mother, are given a chance to a safe, healthy, and dignified life,” stated Akinsanya.

The Chairman’s intervention includes full provision for the medical care of the mother and child, as well as plans for their medium-term shelter and rehabilitation. The council’s Social Welfare Unit is working closely with health officials to ensure comprehensive support.
This act highlights the council’s proactive approach to social welfare and community protection under the leadership of Snr. Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya.
