The Lagos State Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Iyabosola Eletu, and her assistant, Hon. Damilola Sonayon James, have congratulated women of the party across the state on the occasion of the 2026 International Women’s Day.

In a joint message released in Lagos to mark the celebration, the two party leaders praised the commitment, resilience, and leadership of APC women, noting that their contributions remain central to the growth of the party and the development of Lagos State.
They described the women as a formidable force within the party structure, commending their consistent role in strengthening the APC’s grassroots mobilisation and democratic engagement across the state.

“On this special occasion of International Women’s Day, we extend our warmest congratulations to all our remarkable women within the APC Lagos family,” the statement read.
Eletu and James further acknowledged the sacrifices made by women in sustaining the party’s vision and electoral successes over the years. According to them, the dedication and passion demonstrated by women leaders and supporters have continued to inspire confidence within the party.
“You are the heartbeat of our great party, the pillars holding up our collective vision, and the champions of our shared goals,” they stated, adding that the contributions and sacrifices of APC women had been instrumental in the growth and success of the party in Lagos.
They also urged women members to remain steadfast and committed as political activities gradually build toward another election cycle.
According to the leaders, the party relies heavily on the organisational strength and mobilisation capacity of women to drive its programmes and policies.
“As we move closer to another election year, we urge you to continue to stand tall, lead boldly, and work tirelessly to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda to a successful conclusion,” they said, expressing confidence in the ability of women to deliver results for the party.
The statement also reflected on the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day celebration, “Give to Gain,” which the leaders described as a reminder that progress is built through sacrifice, service, and collective effort.
“The theme reminds us of an enduring truth. When women give their time, wisdom, compassion, and leadership, communities flourish, institutions grow stronger, and society moves forward,” they said.
They noted that across Lagos State, APC women have consistently demonstrated this spirit through their active involvement in community mobilisation, political participation, and leadership within the party.
“APC women across the state have continued to give their energy to mobilising communities, their voice to strengthening democratic processes, and their leadership to ensuring that our party remains vibrant, inclusive, and forward looking,” the statement added.
While encouraging unity among members, the two leaders called on women to remain focused and purposeful as the party prepares for future political engagements.
“As we continue our journey and prepare for the opportunities ahead, we encourage all our women to remain steadfast, united, and purposeful,” they said, adding that collective service would lead to stronger institutions and greater representation for women.
They concluded by congratulating all APC women in Lagos, describing them as the pride of the party and a key pillar of its success.
“Once again, congratulations to all APC women in Lagos. You are the pride of our party and the backbone of our success,” the statement added, while wishing them a fulfilling International Women’s Day celebration.
