Daniel Daga, a midfielder who previously featured for the Nigeria U-20 national football team, has been sentenced to six months in prison after a ruling by the Nordmøre og Romsdal District Court.
Thegazellenews.com reports that Daga was a former captain of the Nigerian U-20 team, the Flying Eagles.

According to reports from Norwegian broadcaster TV 2 Norway, the court found the Nigerian midfielder guilty of committing a sexual act against a person without consent. The verdict was delivered on Tuesday, 10 March, 2026.
In addition to the prison sentence, Daga was also ordered to cover legal costs amounting to approximately ₦1.45 million.
Daga, who joined Molde FK in January 2025, made 17 appearances and scored three goals for the club.
His lawyer, Astrid Bolstad, has confirmed that the player will appeal the verdict, maintaining that Daga is innocent and insisting that the encounter was consensual.
Bolstad told TV2 that the player was deeply disappointed with the ruling and plans to challenge the decision through the legal process.
