Women from all walks of life under the aegis of Women of Badagry Federation have unanimously declared their support for Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose as the preferred governorship candidate on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state.

They also said that Lagos cannot lay claim to fairness, equity and justice if Badagry has been left behind in the political realm through military and civilian administrations since its creation in 1967.

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rafeequat Arinola Onabamiro who addressed the Media on behalf of group at the Badagry Town Hall explained that they were not out to complain or protest but rather demanding for a legitimate request that it is the turn of Badagry to govern the state in 2027.

According to her and i quote “when Lagos needed stability, Badagry stood for peace. When the party needed support, Badagry delivered. When leadership needed mobilisation, Badagry showed up” end of quote.

She stressed that history wil remember President Tinubu for good if he honors their request since Badagry has waited for so long adding they are not spectators but a major stakeholders in the future of the state.
The former federal lawmaker said that the area will no longer tolerate individuals who use Badagry’s name and identity to secure political appointments both at the state and federal levels under the guise of representing them.

She maintained that Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the progress of the party , the state and south west at large.
On his part, Chief Rasheed Shobaloju who spoke on behalf of the aspirant, Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose equally pointed that the
demand is legitimate and genuine expressing hope of a favorable response.
He made it clear that the women are not protesting but on appeal to President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC to grant their request.

One of the APC women leaders from Badagry, Mrs Kikelomo Ladipo promised that they will mobilise and vote massively for the party’s candidates in 2027 general elections.
Adding her voice to their agitation, Hon. Funmi Agbaje disclosed that the
women of Badagry are behind the ambition of Dr. Ajose since the women have the largest votes during election and determines who wins.

She described President Bola Tinubu as a true leader who carries everyone along and must be supported in the implementation of ongoing policies of his administration for the good of all Nigerians.
