In the heart of Lagos Island, a leader has emerged, dedicated to serving the people with passion and commitment.

Hon. Prince Tijani Adetoyese Olusi, former Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government, is a seasoned administrator, banker, and politician who has devoted his life to public service.
Born on October 29, 1969, into the esteemed Sanusi Olusi Royal family of Lagos, Prince Olusi’s early life was marked by a strong foundation in education and a deep-seated commitment to community service.

As the countdown begins for the 2027 general election, Prince Olusi has thrown his hat into the ring as one of the aspirants seeking to represent Lagos Island Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He attended Kuramo Primary School, Government College Victoria Island, and later obtained his National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking and Finance from Kwara State Polytechnic.
Prince Olusi’s professional journey began as an Administrative Trainee Officer at the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he served as a Youth Corps member.
He later worked with Lagos State Building Investment and Co.(LBIC) and Inland Bank Nigeria PLC, honing his skills in banking and finance.
However, it is in public service that Prince Olusi has truly made his mark.
The general impression was that Toyese Olusi was riding on the political influence of his father, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, who is the Chairman of the very powerful Governance Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos State to get political offices.
Thegazellenews.com’s investigation revealed that this is not entirely true.
Why one cannot deny his father being the the GAC Chairman, thegazellenews.com can revealed that the young Olusi has carved a niche for himself through his involvement in politics at a very early age devoid of his father’s influence.
In fact, thegazellenews.com can reveal that Toyese’s entrance into politics was in opposition to his father’s belief and political leanings.
It is even on record that the young Olusi once defeated his father in an election in their Olowogbowo ward.
In 1997, the young Olusi was the Chairman of the defunct Grassroots Democratic Movement (GDM) for Ward A3 and his party won in all the ward defeating his father’s party, defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP), such was the influence of the young Toyese Olusi, so it will be a case of disrespect to say he got all he had only through his father’s influence rather than his hard work.
Since his days as the Chairman of GDM in ward A3 and rose through the ranks to become the Executive Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government, a position he held with distinction between 2017 and 2025.
As Chairman of the foremost local governments in Nigeria, Prince Olusi has demonstrated a deep understanding of governance and community development, driving progress and delivering services to the people of Lagos Island.
His leadership has been marked by a commitment to improving the lives of citizens, and his dedication to public service has earned him the respect of his peers and the community.
Prince Olusi is a devout Muslim, married with children, and a proud member of the Sanusi Olusi Royal family.
His story is one of inspiration, a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and a commitment to serving others.
As he leads the race to give Lagos Island Federal Constituency I a positive and progressive representation in the Green Chamber, Prince Olusi remains focused on delivering results and improving the lives of the people.
His, is a story worth watching, and his impact on Lagos Island is sure to be felt for generations to come.
