The member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke has been appointed member of the powerful Governance Advisory Council (GAC), reports thegazellenews.com
Thegazellenews.com reports further that GAC is the highest political decision-making body in Lagos State.
This medium learnt exclusively that Faleke’s appointment was announced today, Wednesday, 29 April, 2026 when the GAC members presented the state Deputy Governor, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.
Thegazellenews.com recalled that Faleke, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance on Tuesday, 28 April, 2026 purchased the nomination forms for President Tinubu, Dr Hamzat and the Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule. He was accompanied by the former Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Honourable Rasaq Olusola Ajala.
Politicians have been congratulating Faleke on his new appointment.
Among them are the Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area, Honourable Jimoh Olawale Saliu and former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Abdul Wahab Olumuyiwa Jimoh.
The Apapa-Iganmu LCDA Chairman described Faleke’s new appointment as well-deserved considering his commitment to ensuring unity and peace in the party.
“He has been in the forefront of the efforts at ensuring that the party remains one.
“He is a man of peace, dedicated to the ideals of the progressive and one who is deeply committed to the success of our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all other APC candidates in the coming general election,” Saliu said
On his part, Honourable Jimoh described Faleke’s appointment as “a testament to your sense of responsibility and a mark of the confidence reposed in you by our leader, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Jimoh, former Deputy Majority Leader of the state House of Assembly stated further that, “We trust in your ability to contribute positively to decisions that will continue to define the path of prosperous Lagos of our dream.
“I wish you God’s guidance and the grace to excel on this new chapter of your elevation on the journey of political leadership”.
