The family of Chief Adebayo Adelabu has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, security agencies and Nigerians following the successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, who were recently abducted in Oyo State.

In a statement issued by Adelabu’s Media Aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, the family said the safe rescue of the victims demonstrated the effectiveness of collective action, cooperation and intelligence-driven security operations.
The family confirmed that Mrs. Adegoke and her children were rescued unharmed and are in good condition.
“We are delighted to announce that the victims have been rescued safely and are in good condition,” the statement said.
Describing the development as a source of relief and gratitude, the family thanked Nigerians from all walks of life for their prayers, support and encouragement throughout the period of the victims’ captivity.
According to the statement, the successful operation reflected the resilience of Nigeria’s security institutions when supported by government and citizens.
The family particularly commended President Tinubu for his concern and commitment to the security and welfare of Nigerians.
It also appreciated the Governor of Oyo State for his support, concern and cooperation during the operation.
The statement further praised the Inspector-General of Police, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, the Oyo State Police Command and the Commissioner of Police in the state for their professionalism, diligence and commitment to securing the release of the victims.
Similarly, the family acknowledged the contributions of the Department of State Services (DSS), commending the Director-General, officers and operatives at the agency’s national headquarters in Abuja and the Oyo State Directorate.
“Our sincere appreciation also goes to the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), the officers and men of the Service at the national headquarters in Abuja, as well as the Oyo State Directorate under the leadership of the State Director, whose dedication and intelligence-driven operations contributed immensely to the successful outcome,” the statement added.
The family also expressed gratitude to the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Oyo State chapter of the party, APC leaders across the country, government officials, political associates, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, friends and family members who stood by them during the difficult period.
It said the outpouring of support through visits, telephone calls, messages and prayers provided strength and hope to the family.
“We are particularly touched by the overwhelming outpouring of solidarity demonstrated through visits, telephone calls, messages, prayers and words of encouragement. Your support provided strength and hope to the family during one of the most challenging moments of our lives,” the statement said.
While celebrating the safe rescue, the family said its thoughts remained with other victims of kidnapping and their families across the country.
It prayed for the freedom of those still in captivity and their safe reunion with loved ones.
“We fervently pray that Almighty God, in His infinite mercy, will grant them freedom and reunite them safely with their loved ones,” the statement stated.
The family noted that the incident once again highlighted the need for collective efforts in addressing insecurity, describing criminality as a common challenge that transcends political, ethnic, religious and social boundaries.
“This experience has once again demonstrated that insecurity is a challenge that transcends partisan politics, ethnic affiliations, religious differences and social status. It is a common enemy that requires collective vigilance, cooperation and collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, political leaders, community stakeholders and citizens alike,” the statement noted.
The family therefore called for sustained support for security agencies and greater collaboration among stakeholders in the fight against crime.
“Together, we can build a nation where every citizen feels safe, protected and free to pursue legitimate aspirations without fear. With sustained cooperation and support for our security agencies, Nigeria can and will become a safer place for all,” it added.
The Adelabu family urged Nigerians to remain united against criminality and continue supporting genuine efforts aimed at protecting lives and property across the country.
Also, they prayed for the safety of security personnel and for lasting peace, security and prosperity in Nigeria.
