Two days after Oyo State Police Command rescued the sister of former Minister of Power, Mr Bayo Adelabu, and her two children, after they were held captive by in a secluded hideout on the outskirts of Ibadan, the state capital, Oyo State government, through the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, on Monday, 8 June, 2026 demolished the building used by the kidnappers.
The victims: Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted at Elewura in the Challenge area of Ibadan on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The team, accompanied by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force visited the property as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state.
According to the state government, the demolition underscores its commitment to tackling insecurity and dismantling criminal networks operating within the state.
The government reiterated its resolve to ensure that individuals involved in criminal activities, as well as facilities used to facilitate such crimes, are identified and dealt with in accordance with the law.
