Famous Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly addressed as Davido on Monday, 22 June, 2026 has announced the release of a new song titled ‘I Know Who I Be’, marking his return with fresh music after a period of limited solo releases, reports thegazellenews.com.
According to Davido, who is regarded as one of Africa’s most celebrated music stars, said the track, which features Jazzwrld and GL_Ceejay, is scheduled to be released on Friday, 26 June, 2026.
The announcement has generated excitement among fans, particularly because the singer had revealed in May that he would be taking a temporary break from making music.
The musician, who made the announcement on his official X page on Monday, 22 June, 2026 told his teeming fans that “the journey to the throne begins” as he unveiled plans for the forthcoming release.
Davido disclosed that “my next single I Know Who I Be releases June 26th,” while sharing promotional photographs for the project.
The osun state born music superstar came to limelight in 2012 with the hit song Dami Duro and later founded DMW, a record label that has produced several successful artistes.
Before the latest announcement, Davido’s last solo release was Be There Still, which dropped in March 2025. He most recently appeared as a featured artiste on TxC’s track Nakupenda.
The new single also comes shortly after the Afrobeats star performed at the opening concert of the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown series in Los Angeles, further expanding his international presence.
With a catalogue that includes Omo Baba Olowo, A Good Time, A Better Time, and Timeless, Davido has remained one of the leading figures in the global Afrobeats movement, and fans will be eager to see what he delivers with I Know Who I Be.
