The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, Lagos, has received a donation of equipment and educational materials from the Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies (NEST360) Programme.
In a statement on Tuesday, 30 June, 2026 in Lagos, the hospital said the donation armed to support neonatal care, clinical education, and data management within the Department of Paediatrics.
The donation, presented at the Newborn Unit (NNU), LUTH, comprised two desktop computers, two Smart LG television screens, two stabilisers, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, tripod stands, webcams, and infection prevention posters.
Prof. Chinyere Ezeaka, Head, Department of Paediatrics, LUTH, and Principal Investigator/Country Lead of the NEST360 Programme in Nigeria, stated that the donation reflects NEST360’s commitment to improving newborn survival.
According to her, it would also improve quality of care through innovative solutions, capacity building, and strengthened healthcare systems.
The Chief Medical Director, LUTH, Prof. Wasiu Adeyemo, expressed appreciation to NEST360 for its continued partnership and unwavering support towards improving newborn healthcare services.
“The donation will contribute significantly to the Hospital’s efforts to provide quality care for newborns while enhancing the capacity of healthcare professionals to deliver the best possible outcomes,” Adeyemo said.
Also present at the presentation was the Country Director of NEST360, Dr Opeyemi Odedere, who expressed appreciation to the Management of LUTH for its steadfast support throughout the implementation of the NEST360 Programme at the facility.
Odedere commended the Hospital’s commitment to advancing newborn healthcare and reaffirmed NEST360’s dedication to sustaining its collaboration with LUTH in improving neonatal outcomes in Nigeria.
The donation further reinforces the strong partnership between LUTH and NEST360 in advancing neonatal healthcare, strengthening healthcare delivery, and improving the survival and well-being of newborns across Nigeria.
