APC Uploads Hamzat, Other Governorship Candidates on INEC Portal + Full List

By Daniel Oluwatobiloba Popoola

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in Lagos state, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat and his running mate, Damilola Senayon James have been uploaded on the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the national headquarters of the party, reports thegazellenews.com

Thegazellenews.com reports further that the party has also successfully uploaded 26 other governorship candidates and their running mates to fly its flag in the 2027 general elections on the electoral body’s portal.

It was learnt last night that all issues surrounding the party’s governorship primaries in previously contentious states had been resolved, clearing the way for the candidates’ submission.

Governorship elections will hold in 28 states in 2027. The party has uploaded candidates for 27 of them, with one state still outstanding as at press time.

Alongside Hamzat, the party uploaded Solomon Adeola for Ogun, Kingsley Chinda for Rivers, and Eric Opah for Abia. Others are: Mohammed Abubakar for Bauchi, Mustapha Gubio for Borno, Jamilu Gwamna for Gombe, and Aliyu Wadada for Nasarawa.

Also on the list are: Baba Malam Wali for Yobe, Hyacinth Alia for Benue, Bassey Otu for Cross River, and Sheriff Oborevwori for Delta.

The party further uploaded Francis Nwifuru for Ebonyi, Peter Mbah for Enugu, Umar Namadi for Jigawa, and Abba Yusuf for Kano.

Other candidates uploaded are: Dikko Radda for Katsina, Umar Bago for Niger, Nasir Idris for Kebbi, and Caleb Mutfwang for Plateau, alongside Umo Eno for Akwa Ibom, Dauda Lawal for Zamfara, and Ahmed Aliyu for Sokoto.

The submission marks a major step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 governorship contests as it works to beat INEC’s deadline.

Sources said the resolution of disputes in affected states cleared the path for the candidates’ particulars to be captured without further hindrance.

Attention now shifts to the one remaining state, where the party is expected to conclude arrangements in the coming days to complete its list for the 2027 governorship elections.
