Lady Iyun Ajilore a.k.a. Saint Janet, the popular Nigerian Juju and highlife singer known as the general overseer of “sinners chapel”, has passed away, reports thegazellenews.com

Thegazellenews.com also reports the late musician died after a brief illness.

Publisher and socialite, Femi Davies confirmed the death of the female musician popularly called ‘the General Overseer of Saint Bottle Cathedral’ on his social media handles.

She reportedly died in the early hours of today, Sunday, 2 August, 2026.

Regarded in the entertainment arena as ‘G.O of Saint Bottles Cathedral’, Janet was famous for blending gospel-style openings with candid, adult-themed highlife and Juju lyrics.

Her ‘controversial’ hit albums include ‘Faaji Plus’ and ‘5G Plus’, which pushed cultural boundaries and drew massive underground popularity.

Noted as a unique and unconventional star in the Nigerian entertainment space, Saint Janet’s lyrics often spark debates over censorship and obscenity in live performance.
