Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, wife of Teddy Don-Momoh, the widower of late gospel singer Kefee, has died barely two weeks after welcoming their first child together.

The development was announced by her family in a statement shared on her official Instagram page.

According to the statement, Lara died peacefully after a brief illness.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh,” the family said.

“After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully.”

The family appealed for privacy as they mourn her passing, while requesting prayers for the repose of her soul and strength to cope with the loss.

“During this deeply painful time, we humbly ask for privacy and prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, and for all who mourn this immeasurable loss,” the statement added.

The family also disclosed that details of her funeral arrangements would be communicated at a later date.

“Further details regarding the funeral arrangements and other family matters will be communicated in due course,” the statement read.

Lara’s death comes just weeks after she and Teddy Don-Momoh welcomed their first child together, a moment that had been celebrated by family, friends and well-wishers on social media.

Teddy Don-Momoh was previously married to renowned gospel singer Kefee, who died in June 2014 after battling a lung-related illness.

The Don-Momoh family expressed gratitude to those who have shown support since the announcement.

“We sincerely thank everyone for the love, support, prayers, and understanding extended to the family during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
