Troops of Operation Hadin Kai on the morning of August 5, 2026 arrested a suspected terrorist informant named  Alhaji Sule Bako, during an intelligence-led operation in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, reports thegazellenews.com.

A security expert, Zagazola Makama, who made this known through a statement posted on his official X handle on Wednesday, said the suspect  was arrested at about 11:40 a.m. on August 5, 2026 in Dzangola Kilba, following credible intelligence linking him to alleged information-sharing activities for terrorist elements operating in the area.

According to him, troops of the 232 Battalion (Tactical) carried out the operation under Operation Desert Sanity V, a component of the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign in the North-East.

Makama added that the suspect was arrested without incident and is currently in military custody, where he is undergoing preliminary interrogation and further investigation to determine the extent of his alleged involvement with terrorist networks.

He also noted that the arrest forms part of ongoing intelligence-driven operations by Operation Hadin Kai aimed at dismantling terrorist support networks, including informants, logistics suppliers and collaborators, across the North-East theatre.

“The military has continued to intensify offensive and intelligence operations to disrupt insurgent activities and deny terrorist groups access to local support structures in the region,” the security expert said.
