Ahead of Saturday, August 15 2026 governorship election in Osun State, former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has described as cheap blackmail the comment credited to by Afrobeats super star, David Adeleke, popularly address as Davido, on the All Progressives Congress(APC), reports thegazellenews.com.
Davido had taken to his official X handle and said that anybody supporting APC in Osun state was an enemy of progress, adding that lessons would be learnt this weekend.

Ahmad, reacting through a post on X, Ahmad said, “This is just cheap blackmail. People have every right to vote for whoever or whatever party they choose.
“After all, your uncle has been running the government for four years now. Surely, that is enough time for the good people of Osun to make their judgment.”
Prior to this war of words, the two have been launching an online war against each other in recent times.
While Ahmad had expressed confidence that the singer would return to X to lament the outcome of the August 15 governorship election, Davido in return told Ahmad he was a little boy who got into politics, challenging him to point out any achievement he made as a presidential aide for eight years.
