Meraiah Ekeinde, daughter of Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has announced her engagement.
Meraiah shared the news on Wednesday, 12 August, 2026 in a black-and-white video capturing moments from a romantic beachside proposal, although she chose to keep her fiancé’s identity private.
In the video, her fiancé was seen sharing affectionate moments with her, with Meraiah revealing only parts of his face as she celebrated the new chapter of her life.
The announcement quickly drew congratulatory messages from friends, family members and well-wishers, who took to the comment section to celebrate with her.
Meraiah is one of Omotola’s four children with her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde. The actress has frequently shared glimpses of her family life with her followers, including moments involving her children.
In March, Meraiah surprised her mother by attending the Lagos premiere of *Mother’s Love*, Omotola’s directorial debut, without informing her beforehand.
Her unexpected appearance became one of the memorable moments of the premiere and highlighted the close bond between mother and daughter.
Mother’s Love also marked a major milestone in Omotola’s career as she celebrated 30 years in Nollywood with her first feature film as a director.
The film explores motherhood and the sacrifices parents make for their children, themes that resonate with Omotola’s experience as a mother of four.
