Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has declared that Lagos remains open for business, disclosing that the state is ready for deep, long-term partnerships with diaspora investors across infrastructure, technology, finance and other key sectors.
The Governor made this known in a statement shared on his social media page, following his participation at the inaugural Africa Business Investment Summit in Washington, D.C., which held under the patronage of His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Sanwo-Olu explained that he joined investors, business leaders and policymakers at the summit, describing the engagement as an opportunity to interact with stakeholders on ways to strengthen Lagos’ economic ties with the diaspora.
“It was a pleasure to join investors, business leaders and policymakers at the inaugural Africa Business Investment Summit in Washington, D.C., under the patronage of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,” he said.

The Governor disclosed that he held discussions with diaspora investors and business leaders during the summit, focusing on practical ways of collaborating to create real opportunities for Lagos and Nigeria at large.
“I spent time meeting with diaspora investors and business leaders to discuss practical ways we can work together and create real opportunities back home,” he stated.
He described Lagos as Africa’s largest sub-national economy, stressing that the state was ready for deep, long-term partnerships, particularly given the significant opportunities available across infrastructure, technology, finance and other key sectors.
“As Africa’s largest sub-national economy, Lagos is ready for deep, long-term partnerships. The opportunities we are creating across infrastructure, technology, finance and other key sectors are significant and the time to invest is now,” he added.

Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the state’s commitment to sustaining its economic openness, assuring that Lagos would continue to build partnerships aimed at creating jobs and strengthening its position as Africa’s leading business destination.
“We remain open for business and we will continue to build partnerships that create jobs and strengthen our position as Africa’s leading business destination,” he stated.
