In First Week of September,  Naira Records N8.21 Appreciation Against Dollar

Data from the Nigeria apex bank, Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) has revealed that the naira appreciated by N8.21 against the United States dollar in the first week of September 2026 in the official foreign exchange market, reports thegazellenews.com.

According to the data, the naira stood at N1,321.22 per dollar at the close of trading on Friday, 4 September, 2026, compared with N1,329.43 at the start of the month.

With this latest development, it means that in the first four trading days of September 2026, the naira gained N8.21 against the dollar in the official foreign exchange market.

Meanwhile, at the black market, the naira remained flat at N1,400 per dollar during the period under review, according to multiple Bureau de Change operators in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.
