This indeed best of times for famous Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy, and Colombian singer, Shakira, as the both achieved a major milestone with their joint track, “Dai Dai”.
According to the view count on Shakira’s official YouTube channel the song’s official music video has crossed the one-billion views mark.
The figures were independently checked and are based on views from the video on Shakira’s channel. Released in May, the collaboration combines Shakira’s Latin-pop sound with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats style, highlighting the international appeal of both artistes.
“Dai Dai” was officially named the Official Song of the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
Royalties from the track will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. Shakira has previously recorded football-related songs, including “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
