The Deputy Director-General of the PBAT/KOH campaign, Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala, has charged graduates of the Lagos Youth Development Institute Transformational Fellowship Programme, Cohort 2, to embrace discipline, good character and selfless service as they begin a new phase of their leadership journey.
Ajala gave the charge on Wednesday, 30 September, 2026, while speaking at the graduation ceremony of the fellows, where he celebrated their development and urged them to use the knowledge and exposure acquired through the programme to make meaningful contributions to society.
Addressing the graduates, Ajala reminded them that “nothing comes easy”, stressing that success requires discipline, the right attitude, good character and, above all, a genuine commitment to service.
He urged the young leaders to embrace selflessness, noting that leadership should not be defined by what individuals can gain for themselves but by the positive impact they make in the lives of others.
According to Ajala, his experience in public service had taught him that selfless service speaks for itself, particularly through support for the underprivileged and positive contributions to communities.
He therefore urged the graduates to remain disciplined, purposeful and committed to service as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
“As you begin this new chapter, I urge you to remain disciplined, purposeful and committed to service. Use the knowledge and exposure you have gained through LYDI to become change-makers wherever you find yourselves,” Ajala said.
The Deputy DG also announced ₦1 million in support of the programme and promised to host the beneficiaries to a special dinner.
Ajala congratulated the 40 graduates on completing the Transformational Fellowship Programme, Cohort 2, urging them to see the graduation as the beginning of a greater responsibility to society.
“Your journey has only just begun. Go forth and lead with character, discipline and selflessness,” he told the graduates.
The graduation ceremony brought together the fellows to mark the completion of their fellowship and their transition into a new phase of leadership, with emphasis on service, character and meaningful contributions to society.
