Famous Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has revealed that music is not just passion for her but a therapy for healing her and releasing pain.

Tems, who made this disclosure while speaking in a recent interview with EE72 Magazine,  explained that that writing music helps her to release pain and heals her.

The Grammy-winning singer and songwriter explained that whenever she is done writing music, she feels whole, just as also added that the aftereffect makes it easier for her to forgive and move on.

“Writing music helps me release pain and it helps me to heal.

“By the time I am done, everything I felt, it is gone. I can let the whole situation go. I can forgive. I can move on,” she explained.

The singer also spoke about being unapologetic about her art and herself, stressing that she isn’t trying to prove anything to anyone.

“I am not trying to prove who I am. I know what is for me and what is not for me.

“I am trying to take everything in and make the best of every single moment,” she added.
