The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set a target of delivering five million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat in the coming general elections, reports thegazellenews.com
Thegazellenews.com reports further that the target was set on Monday, 19 October, 2026 by the state Chairman of the party, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi while delivering his opening remarks at a One-day Retreat for Directors and leaders of the PBAT/KOH Campaign Council in Lagos.
Ojelabi stated that the target is achievable because of the party’s extensive network, grassroots appeal, membership and general presence across the state.
He however, noted that these advantages would count for nothing if party members and leaders do not take the bull by the horn and ensure extensive and massive mobilisation across the state.
He urged party members and leaders to embark on practical engagement with the electorate noting that, “we must move beyond general assurances but ensure clear, practical pathways to achieving our targets.
“We must know our numbers, understand our constituencies and identify our strengths and weaknesses”.
He stated that all local governments, LCDAs, wards and polling units must have a clearly defined role in delivering on the target.
“Let us be clear, our ambition is not simply to participate in the elections or to secure another victory. It is to surpass our previous electoral performance and demonstrate, once again, the organisational capacity and political strength of the APC in Lagos State,” he said.
