A Federal High Court in Lagos Presided over by Justice Akintayo Aluko has remanded  famous Nollywood actress Doris Ogala in prison on three counts bordering on alleged cyberbullying, cyberstalking and attempted extortion involving the founder of Liberation City, Pastor Chris Okafor.

Ogala was arraigned on Wednesday, 28 October, 2026 before Justice Aluko by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF).

The actress pleaded not guilty to all three charges, which accuse her of publishing intimate images, circulating allegedly false information and threatening to release further material concerning the cleric.

Following her plea, the prosecution, led by Tolulope Mokolu, requested a trial date and urged the court to remand the actress pending the determination of the charge.

The prosecutor also told the court that he had only been served with Ogala’s bail application that day and needed time to study it and file a response.

However, defence counsel N. C. Atulomah opposed the remand request, arguing that the decision to grant bail rested with the court.

He urged the judge to release the actress, undertaking to produce her at the next hearing. The defence also informed the court that Ogala was a governorship candidate of a political party in Abia State.

Opposing the request, the prosecutor maintained that he was still within the time allowed to respond to the bail application.

In his ruling, Justice Aluko held that the defence had not presented sufficient material to justify the request for her release on bail.

The judge, however, ordered an accelerated hearing of the bail application and adjourned the case until October 30 for that purpose.
