‎

‎The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has discovered discrepancies in the dates of birth of six serving Commissioners of Police (CPs) and has directed the affected officers to submit their notices of retirement with immediate effect.

‎

‎An internal memo to that effect, issued by the office of the Force Secretary, dated October 27, 2026, indicated that the officers have attained their mandatory retirement age of 60.

‎

‎The six CPs were identified, with their respective dates of birth indicated in the memo to include CP Adamu A. Elleman of Niger State Command.

‎

‎His actual date of birth was January 16, 1966, and is expected to have retired in January, 2026; CP Abdullateef A. Yusuf, now 68 years old, was born on January 1, 1958). He should have retired in 2018

‎

‎CP Lasisi A. Titilola, currently in charge of the Nigeria Railway Police Command Headquarters in Ebute-Meta, Lagos, was born on January 28, 1963, and ought to have retired in January, 2023.

‎

‎CP Markus Ishaku Basiran of the Police Academy, Kano, was born on January 25, 1965, and his retirement date was January, 2025.

‎

‎CP Ajayi Oluyemi was born on September 2, 1966, and should have retired in September, 2026,  retirement date September, 2026; while CP Sylvester Onyie Uzoefuna of the FCID was born on April 24, 1964), with his retirement date ad April, 2024.

‎

‎Crime Puzzle investigation revealed that the officers had perfected the alterations some years back, with the intent of elongating their service years, an anomaly that was relayed to the Police Service Commission (PSC) by a whistleblower.

‎

‎Acting on the information, the Commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), swiftly moved to investigate the matter and found it to be correct, prompting the decision to direct the officers to submit their retirement notices.

‎

‎Crime Puzzle also gathered that more revelations are on the way to expose other officers with a similar offence of age falsification
