The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has warned Nigerians to be careful of scammers posing as the centre to dupe unsuspecting Nigerians saying the centre was not giving out money to people and neither is it recruiting.
The Head of Department, Surveillance and Epidemiology Department, NCDC, Mrs Elsie Ilori, stated this while briefing journalists during the PTF briefing on Monday.
She disclosed that the centre was presently looking into the ongoing scams and assured that culprits would be brought to book.
She also spoke on delay of getting COVID-19 test results, saying that the NCDC was working with states on a digital platform and that it would be launched soon in Abuja to ensure an easy and speedy delivery of test results.
She lamented the situation where some Nigerians do not give detailed information making it difficult to get across to them when their result was ready.
She also highlighted that Nigeria moved from five laboratories in march to 64 laboratories, six months into the response.
She added: “Today, we have activated at least one lab in 33 states and the FCT.”
