Delta State Government, Friday, 11 October, 2024said it would next week Tuesday, distribute 9,000 bags of fertilizers to farmers’ associations to support food security and productivity in the state. Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu disclosed this at a meeting with the leadership of the farmers’ associations in Asaba. The fertilizers were distributed accordingly to oil palm 1,490 bags; Cassava 1,100; Banana and plantain 350; Maize 70; Yam 120bags; Rice 150; Vegetables and green house farmers 200; Independent farmers 150 bags. A 34-year-old Australian woman is in a critical condition after her right arm was severed in a dog attack in Townsville, north Queensland. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 07:00 local time on Friday, 11 october,2024 where they found the woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. Her right arm had been severed below the elbow, but paramedics were able to retrieve the detached limb before rushing her to a local hospital. She remains in a serious but stable condition.
