A suspected vandal has been electrocuted while tampering with an exposed live wire in an attempt to steal it from a transformer substation at Commissioners’ Quarters in Damaturu, the Yobe capital. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has fined the 11 electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) N9.11bn for overbilling their customers under estimated billing. The fine was contained under the September 2024 Supplementary Order of the Multi Year Tariff Order of 2024.
