Rivers Government has confirmed that the recent cholera outbreak in parts of the state claimed the lives of two persons while 16 people reportedly survived. A statement by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Port Harcourt, the state capital. A 38-year-old man, Saheed Adisa,has been sentenced to one-year imprisonment by an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court in Isabo, Ogun State for stealing cooking pots. The defendant, who resides at No 25 Temidire Street, Sabo area in Abeokuta pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of stealing. Sokoto State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Nasiru Binji, on Friday, 28 June, 2024 stated that no courts reinstated deposed Sokoto district heads.
