The local wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport was virtually down early Friday, 27 March, 2026, as members of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stormed the airport en route Abuja for the National Convention of the party, reports thegazellenews.com
Thegazellenews.com reports further that the National Convention of the ruling party is taking place on Friday, 27 March and Saturday, 28 March, 2026.


Members of the party have started arriving at the airport as early as 6am with members dressed in the various Ankara uniforms of the party.

All flights to Abuja have been fully booked with more members still coming into the airport as at 8.34 am when this report was filled.

Leaders of the party sighted at the airport on Friday morning include: former Senate Minority Whip and member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon; former Deputy Governor of the state, elder statesman and GAC member, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye; former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Sabit Adeyemi Ikuforiji; GAC member, Cardinal James Odunmbaku; Princess Adefunmilayo Tejuoso; her husband, Prince Kayode; newly elected South West Zone Organising Secretary of the party, Dr Lateef Ibirogba; APC state Publicity Secretary, Mogaji Oluseye Oladejo; APC Vice Chairman for Lagos West Senatorial District, Tunde Aboyade; Honourable Jide Jimoh; ex-Lagos Assembly members: Olumuyiwa Jimoh, Mufutau Egberongbe, Adebisi Yusuf, Rotimi Abiru, Hakeem Bello, Omotayo Oduntan, Ramotallahi Akinola-Hassan; ex-Rep members: Toyin Suarau, Kolawole Taiwo, Lanre Odubote, Taofeek Adaranijo and James Owolabi among others.

Investigation by thegazellenews.com revealed that more members are still being expected as the party have made provision for as many as more members to be at the convention ground.

The APC National Convention is taking place at the Eagles Square in Abuja.
