The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke has been installed as the Atunlushe-Akorede of Ikejaland. His wife, Mrs. Bukunola Esther Faleke was also installed as the Yeye Atunlushe-Akorede of Ikeja constituency with Ikeja standing still for the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and his adorable wife.
The Lawmaker was honoured for impacting positively on the people of his constituency through his various empowerment programmes through which close to over 10,000 people have been empowered. Serving Federal and state lawmakers, traditional rulers and other stakeholders and guests trooped in early into the palace of the paramount ruler of Onigbongbo, Awuse of Onigbongbo kingdom, His Royal Majesty Olusegun Adeyemi Ajasa to witness the installation ceremony. The Awuse of Onigbongbo kingdom conferred the title on Hon. Faleke and his wife in the company of the traditional rulers in Ikeja Federal Constituency: Oba of Aguda, His Royal Majesty, Saibu Hakeem Agbaosi Ewe Obaja 1; the Olu of Oregun, His Royal Majesty, Dr Olukunmi Olusesan Akingbola Ikuduro 1, and the Regent of Ikeja. During the installation, Oba Ajasa stated that the conferment of the chieftaincy titles on both Hon. Faleke and his wife was an acknowledgement of their immense contributions to the development and growthof Ikeja Federal Constituency and its people.
The paramount ruler said: "Hon. Faleke and his wife have contributed hugely to the development of Ikeja constituency as a whole and have delivered thousands of our youths from the shackles of unemployment. This is one of the ways to acknowledge their significant contributions" The showstopping reception which followed immediately at the open field of the Police College in GRA, Ikeja was equally an unforgettable ceremony as thousands graced the glamorous event. It was a gathering of top echelons in Nigeria’s socio-political space. The sprawling VIP venue was laced with colourful swatches of fabrics and gallands of beautiful flowers from the high table, filled with gallant guests to the open sitting area occupied by beautiful followers and loyalists of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke. It was indeed a royal reception. The number four citizen of the country, Speaker òf the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila described Faleke as a noble son of the land, who has duly represented the people of Ikeja Federal Constituency and given them a voice in the House. Presenting an award of Pan Africanism to Rt. Hon Faleke by a delegation of Pan African organization on behalf of the head of the organization Dr Mike Okiro (former Inspector General of Police). The leader of the delegation emphasized that Hon Faleke deserved the Chieftaincy title adding that he is a pride of Africa. Expressing his appreciation, the Atunlushe-Akorede of Ikeja, Rt. Hon. Faleke noted that the title was a call to further service to the Ikeja community. Top amongst dignitaries at the event included the Speaker of the House of Reps, Rt. Hon.
