The Group Managing Director (GMD) of Complete Communications Limited and one of Nigeria’s greatest football journalists and analysts, Alhaji Mumini Alao has bagged a PhD in Mass Communication.
Alhaji Alao was among 148 PhD graduates who received their Doctorate degrees at the 51st convocation ceremony of the University of Lagos on Thursday, 8 Jujy, 2021.
The title of Alao’s thesis is Influence of Audience Preference on Media Coverage of Domestic and Foreign Football in Nigeria.
Four honorary doctorate degrees were awarded to: Dr. Biodun Shobanjo; Alhaji Mohammadu Indimi, OFR; Sir. Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu and Dr. Ameyo Stella-Adedevoh (post-humous).
Alao had his secondary education at the famous Iganmode Grammar School, Ota before proceeding to another popular and Nigeria’s premier Islamic secondary school, Anwar ul Islam College formerly Ahmadiyya College, Agege for his A-Level where he and a cummulative 13 points out of a possible 15 paving way for his admission into the prestigious University of Lagos for his Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication graduating with a Second Upper Division degree.
Alao is one Nigeria’s famous sports journalists in and outside Africa and was the main journalist that covered the Super Eagles journey to their first World Cup in the United States of America in 1994.
