One of the counts read: “That you, Oyetunde Oluwole Gabriel, Mokwunye Emmanuel, Sanusu Mohammed, Emgab Oil and Gas and Petrofields Oils and Gas Limited, on or about the 19th day of July 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, dishonestly stole and converted to your own use,  the sum of N9.240 million, property of Abubakar Ismail Yakubu, Managing Director, Yankari Oil Company Limited.”
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them prompting  prosecution counsel, S.O.Daji,  to ask for a trial date.
However, the defence counsel,  told the court about a pending application for bail for the defendants.
