The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ojo Federal Constituency kicked off its campaign for the 2023 general elections with Stakeholders’ meetings in Ojo town and Iba community, on Tuesday, 10 January, 2023.

Two major events were held to flag-off the campaign exercise. Party stalwarts met with members and executive of the party in Ward A at Ojo and held another meeting with the artisans in Iba Local Council Development Area.

Party stalwarts present at the Ojo event were: Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan, former Deputy Governor of the state and Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC); Alhaji R.O Olorunfunmi, APC Apex Leader for Ojo Federal Constituency; the three party chairmen for Ojo LGA, Oto Awori and Iba LCDAs; and the Council Chairmen of Ojo, Iba and Oto Awori LCDAs.

The party candidates: Dr. (Mrs) Idiat Oluranti Adebule, APC Candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District; Hon.Michael Lanre Ogunyemi, APC House of Representatives Candidate for Ojo Federal  Constituency; Hon.Olatunji Surajdeen, APC Candidate for Ojo State Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly; and Hon.Adebisi Olusegun Ege, APC Candidate for Ojo State Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly were also present.

The Director General for the Ojo Federal Constituency Campaign Council, Hon Rosulu Idowu, charged stakeholders present to mobilize and collect their PVCs, with a view to voting massively for all APC candidates.

He mandated the 15-man polling unit committee to move from house to house ensuring that people come out and vote massively for the party’s candidates.

Party candidates who spoke at the event called on on all present to come out enmasse and change the narrative with their votes for more infrastructural developments and empowerments from the state and federal level.

Dr Adebule called on all present to ensure that they not only mobilise for the collection of PVCs, they should also mobilise for people to vote for APC candidates during the election.

“This is our chance. We must ensure that we come out and collect our PVCs and also ensure that we come enmasse and vote for our party candidates at all levels,” she said.

According to Dr Adebule, APC is the only party that has the interest of the people at heart. “Another motivation for us is the fact that our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is contesting for the Presidency. Let’s honour him and all APC candidates with our votes,” she said.

The Ojo APC Rep Candidate, Hon Lanre Ogunyemi, called on the people not only to vote for the APC Candidates but also to remain vigilant and ensure that their votes are protected and counted.

“We should not only vote but we should also ensure that our votes are counted and well protected thus we should be vigilant,” he said.

At the second event held at Isashi Town Hall with the artisan group, the duo of Hon Yisa Jubril and Hon Rosulu Idowu appealed to the body to build more on its cordial relationship with the party, assuring that their members will benefit more from the party.

Other speakers reiterated on the need to vote all APC candidates so that the body can have more access to government and ease of doing business.

The leader of the Artisan group, Mrs Sherifat who responded on behalf of the body promised to mobilize and cast their votes for all candidates of the party.
