The Ojo APC Federal Constituency Campaign Council in continuation of its grassroot engagement and advocacy, met with market men and women in Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area and with stakeholders as well as party faithfuls of Ward D, Ijanikin on Thursday, 19 January, 2023 at the council secretariat hall and Ijanikin town hall respectively.

At the first meeting with the representatives of all markets in Oto-Awori council, the Council Chairman, Prince Musbau Ashafa, also a member of the Campaign Council, expressed appreciation to the traders for living up to the expectations of party leaders at all time.

He thanked them for standing by the ruling party appealing to the ethnic nationalities to put into consideration the good relationship that has been existing between both parties.

He stressed the need for them to vote for the All Progressives Congress so as to keep enjoying more social amenities. He reeled out  the sterling qualities of all the candidates of the party particularly the Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who during his time as Governor of Lagos State, appointed non-Lagosians as members of his cabinet which contributed to the positive development witnessed during the said period.

The Director General of the Campaign Council, Hon Rosulu Idowu advised the market leaders to go back to their various markets and sensitize their members on the need to collect their PVCs and vote for APC and all its candidates. He said they should look out for the logo of the party on the ballot paper and charged them to do the needful on February 25 and March 11, 2023 respectively.

He advised the ethnic nationalities to put sentiments aside, in his words, “this election is all about those that can deliver and not sentiments. We are presenting credible candidates who have the wherewithal”.

Comrade Olusegun Ege, APC Candidate for Ojo State Constituency I, told the market men and women that they are the owners of the party because the Presidential Candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the son of the former Iyaloja General of Nigeria, the late Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, he asked them to go and collect their PVCs, which is key in delivering the project.

Hon Olatunji Surajudeen Tijani, the party’s Candidate for Ojo State Constituency II, also appreciated the market men and women stating that he knows that the body will come all out and vote massively for the party.

Hon Lanre Ogunyemi, APC Reps Candidate for Ojo Federal Constituency, spoke in the same vein by asking the market men and women to speak loud and clear with their votes more than ever before.

Mr ThankGod Amata, Chairman of the Shoe Sellers Association in Vespa Market, who spoke on behalf of the ethnic nationalities assured the campaign council that their votes is for APC and no other party.

The Iyaloja General of Oto Awori LCDA, Chief Mrs Risikat Amure, who spoke on behalf of the entire members further assured the leadership of the party that all the market men and women will go all out to canvass and mobilize for the All Progressives Congress(APC) because the association is a progressive minded one and the body has benefited immensely from the party.

The second meeting which was held at the Ijanikin town hall had in attendance party faithful and leaders from Ijanikin, Alasia, Ibasa nla, Ibasa Kekere, Ibefun, Aiyetoro, Divine and its environs.

The main point of discussion was not different from the previous one and it centred on the need for residents to go out enmasse and mobilise for the collection of their PVCs which will enable to vote in the coming elections.

All the party leaders and candidates who spoke at the previous event, also spoke and they were united in urging the residents not only to collect their PVCs but to also vote for all the candidates of the party.

Hon Adio Musbau Ajose, a former PDP stalwart but now in APC, assured the leadership that there is no problem and the ward is more than ever ready to vote for all the party’s candidates.

Alhaji Amonota Sanni, Apex Woman Leader, assured the party leaders of massive votes for the candidates of APC, saying that the opposition has nothing to offer.

Barr Tunde Lawal, Secretary to the Campaign Council gave the vote of thanks at two events  appreciating party members and leaders in the ward for coming out in large numbers to receive the team.

Attendees at both events include: the Director General, Hon Rosulu Idowu; the Secretary, Barr Tunde Lawal; Prince Musbau Ashafa, Council Chairman, Oto Awori LCDA; Hon Yisa Jubril, Council Chairman for Iba LCDA, the three party Chairmen of Ojo, Iba and Oto-Awori Councils; the Ijanikin Traditional Council represented by Chiefs Otun, Oosa, Olorogun, Iyalode and Erelu; Apex Leader, Ojo Federal Constituency, Alhaji R.O Olorunfunmi; Hon Saheed Adio and Hon Sadiq Abayomi among others.
