2023: Sanwo-Olu Presents Party Flags To Ojo APC Candidates

Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Ojo Federal Constituency for the 2023 general elections collected the party flags from the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday, 12 January, 2023.

Presentation of party flags to candidates is a symbolic event giving official stamp to the candidates as the party Flag-bearers during elections.

The presentation of flags to the candidates took place during the Lagos State APC mega rally for Lagos West 2, Badagry division which took place at Asiribo field, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Ijanikin in Ojo Local Government Area of the state on Thursday, 12 January, 2023.

The epoch making event was filled with lots of razzmatazz, singing and dancing as party members from the four local governments: Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Amuwo-Odofin, Ojo and Badagry; and the local council development areas: Ifelodun, Oriade, Iba, Otto-Awori, Olorunda and Badagry West, trooped out in large numbers to show their support for the party and its candidates. 

APC candidates from Ojo Federal Constituency who collected their flags from Sanwo-Olu were: former Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. (Mrs) Idiat Oluranti Adebule, APC Candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District; two-term member of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Michael ‘Lanre Ogunyemi, APC Candidate for House of Representatives, Ojo Federal Constituency; current member representing Ojo State Constituency II in the state Assembly, Hon.Olatunji Surajdeen, APC Candidate for Ojo State Constituency II, Lagos State House of Assembly; and Hon. Adebisi Oluwasegun Ege, APC Candidate for Ojo State Constituency I of the Lagos State House of Assembly. 

Presenting the flags to the candidates, Sanwo-Olu urged them to roll up their sleeves and go into the trenches to fish out voters and votes for the party.

He called on the people to support and vote for the party and all its candidates in the coming elections.

The Lagos State Governor highlighted some of the major achievements of his administration particularly in the Badagry division while also assuring residents of the area of the commitment to provide basic infrastructure development in the area.

Some of the achievements include: the expansion of Lagos-Badagry expressway, ongoing construction of light rail in the area, construction of the Ojo General Hospital which is nearing completion and the upgrading of the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education to a University of Education among others.

Also speaking at the event, the state Chairman of the party, Pastor Cornelius Oyefolu Ojelabi made it known that the Aworis right from the time of Chief Obafemi Awolowo have always been on the side of the progressives, which has always yielded positive results and dividends of democracy.

He assured Governor Sanwo-Olu that his people and the entire Badagry division will not waiver in their support the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; and other candidates of the party in the coming elections.

Decampees from the opposition parties came to pledge their support to the party. They include Hon. Muhibudeen Akinsanya, former state Legal Adviser of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); Mrs Amoke Agbalajobi, ex-Woman Leader; and Mr Michael Sessil former  state Secretary of the Action Alliance (AA) joined the party with thousands of their supporters. 

Attendees at the event include: Governor Sanwo-Olu; his Deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hazmat who led members of the state executive council to the programme. 

Others include: the Apex Leader of Badagry Division, Alhaji Rabiu Oluwa; former Deputy Governor of the state and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan; APC Apex Leader for Ojo Federal Constituency, Alhaji R.O Olorunfunmi; state party chieftains led by the state party Chairman, Pastor C.O. Ojelabi; members of the Lagos APC Campaign Council led by the Director General, Senator Ganiyu Olarenwaju Solomon; former Minister of State for Defense, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Conference of Council Chairmen Badagry Division, Director General of Ojo.Federal Constituency Campaign Council and Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon Rasulu Olusola Idowu and Secretary of the Council, Barrister Lawal among others.
